Default HM Tombs...worth the trouble?

So, of course everyone wants to do Hard Mode. I get it. But isn't Tombs all about a quick run to the end for greens? If you're after HM type drops and/or ecto, wouldn't you be better off in UW? Why is everyone in Tombs so obsessed with Hard Mode? At best it makes a quick and easy run unnecessarily long and...well, hard. Anyone care to comment?

Whenever I do tombs i go HM, basically because it makes it actually slightly challenging, with better drops along the way, and to be honest I dont know if the majority of people goin to tombs is there purely for the greens anyway, because, lets face it, most of them are outdated, and worth crumbs on the in-game market.

As fast? We're obviously having different experiences. Seems like every time I get into a HM group everyone is all cranky and overzealous and 4 times out of 5 we end up wiping because the puller won't wait for the monk to recharge or something ridiculous. By the time I get into a group that can manage to hold itself together and actually finish I could've been through on NM like twice.

Maybe I'm just playing at the wrong time of day...

Does being in normal or hard mode matter for green drops? I didn't notice any difference. If it's the greens you want you might wanna stick to normal mode. The rest of the loot is better in HM though. Just don't play during the afternoon, play late when the kids are sleeping, works awesome for me.

oh wait, forget about PUG's, make a good hero build with a friend and be faster then any PUG out there. Tombs is all about positioning, and heroes have flags, so...

HM TOMBS IS EASY MODE. ever since the interduction of HM I have noticed if you join a NM tomb run its full of newbie b/p rangers, And with the proper group in HM it takes the same time as NM.

In my experience, HM can be as quick and easy as NM, provided you have a good team.
HM is a lot less forgiving though, that is, if you make a mistake it is a lot harder to recover from it.

HM, definitely. NM nowadays is just plain too easy, and the drops are nowhere near as good.

I basically did Tombs in HM, just so I could say (to myself) I did it (and NM gets too easy if you've done it often enough). You're right the drops aren't particularly great and the chests are just average (i got junk both times)

I also did Tombs (in NM) with Heroes & Henchies (twice), just to see if I could do it.

Nowadays I only do Tombs for grins and/or to level up a pet. I wouldn't bother doing H&H any more (it takes to long) and it doesn't matter to me whether it's NM or HM. It's an easy way to get decent greens for your heroes.

IMO its not worth it...if you want the greens go NM..if you want ectos go to the UW...HM PuG teams from my experience (and my mates) fail more then succeed...if you are going to HM do it with guildies / alliance; succeed 100% that way ^^

I think HM tombs is worth it since the run is usually relatively quick. The greens are ok, and several are guaranteed to drop. Ectoplasms and elite tomes, gold storm bows, and eternal bows I think are the main allure of the area.

I agree that UW would be better ecto-wise, but tombs requires much less of a commitment than that area.
